"Oh, the depths of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments and his paths beyond tracing out!" Romans 11:33
There is an unfathomable mystery about some of the ways of God. His wisdom and knowledge so far surpass our own that we cannot begin to understand all that He has purposed or does. We are not without any understanding of God because He has revealed to us those truths about His person and ways that we need to know. In regard to what can be known about God and His ways we should be diligent students. In regard to what is beyond our comprehension we must trust Him and praise Him for His greatness. What kind of God would He be if I could completely understand and simply explain Him? Not the kind of God we need.
Father, you are deep beyond my ability to fathom. I have only begun to wade into the shallows of Your wisdom and knowledge and already I am in over my head. I praise you for the depths that are beyond my knowing and gladly trust You to rule all things in accordance with Your plan.
I'm praying for you.

Pastor Mark,
ReplyDeleteThese words of yours really struck me: "Not the kind of God we need." Isn't that the truth? I think it would be frightening if we understood everything about God's plan. It's comforting to know we have a Father who knows the plan. I just have to be obedient to the part He reveals to me. Phew -- that takes the pressure off!
Thanks for a good message.
Good Morning Pastor Mark,
ReplyDeletePsalms 8:3 When I consider your heavens, the work of yur fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? This morning first light made me want to fall down and worship my awesome Father. I agree with Anne, it relieves me of the pressure of thinking I must understand this unfathomabile God. So I can just enjoy and obey that which He reveals and trust Him with that which I can't see or understand. Isa.55:11 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." With this in mind, my belief in who He is keeps me when things don't go the way I think it should go. Thank you Father for being God. LOve in Christ Francie
