13Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.
1 Corinthians 16:13
As Paul finishes his first letter to the church in Corinth, he leaves them with these strong and encouraging words. Paul first warns them to be on guard because the enemy is waiting to attack. We need to be aware that Satan is looking to attack us at our weakest point, therefore we need to be prepared when those attacks are coming. Paul tells us to put on the full armor of God in Ephesians 6, thus equipping ourselves for the battle that is at hand. When we have the full armor in place, we are able to stand firm in the faith, not being thrown and tossed around by the enemies arsenal. However, we should not boast because we are strong or courageous, we should be humble and rely on the strength of the Holy Spirit to help us through this tough spiritual battlefield.
Father, help me to stand firm against the enemies attacks. Teach me through your word how to be strong and courageous in the midst of the spiritual battle that is taking place within my life. I desire nothing more but to walk side by side with my Lord.
Your Servant
Chris

Good Morning Chris,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the insight on this Morning Firt Light. Indeed the battle is fierce and we are reminded through God's word that we are able to stand only through His strength. I agree with you in prayer that I will humble and rejoice in my weakness because then is strength made perfect in me. I am so glad that God is our every present help in time of weakness and in Him alone do I boast. Love in Christ Francie
