"Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up." 1 Corinthians 8:1

Possessing, or thinking that we possess, greater knowledge than others can lead to an inflated ego. Having love (God's kind of love) leads to serving others for their good in Christ. Knowledge without love leads to self-promotion. Knowledge guided by love becomes a tool to build others up in Christ.

Father, help me to possess knowledge with humility and to use knowledge in love for the edification of my fellow Christians.

I'm praying for you.
Pastor Mark

  1. Thank you Pastor Mark,
As one who loves to read and study the Word of GOD,I continually have to guard against being puffed up.But the more I learn the more I realize how little I really know.GOD always has a way to humble us doesn't HE?Instead of being known as knowledeable I pray that we can all be known as men who love GOD and are known by GOD.

Holy Father. You are an awesome and a holy GOD.All honor and glory belong to You.I pray that we can be like Your Servant Job.Our names on Your lips, worthy of Your trust in us to withstand the perils and evils of this world. To be blameless and upright in Your eyes.I know this cannot be attained through knowledge only we must have love in our hearts.Thank you for giving Jesus as our example of what love truly is.

  2. Thank you also Pastor Mark,
Anne and I was talking about how God uses our imperfection to keep us humble as He uses us in his kingdom. When the apostle Paul ask God to remove the throne from his flesh, God replied, my grace is sufficient for in your weakness my strenght is made perfect. It was also revealed to Paul that the thorn was also necessary to keep him humble during the time God would be revealing some deep things to him. God knows us so well. So I glory in my weakness that the power of Christ may rest on me. Love in Christ Francie
