For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread,… 1 Corinthians 11:23
On Sunday mornings, Pastor Mark is preaching through Galatians and we have seen how Paul defends his presentation of the gospel and his calling from God. 1 Corinthians 11 has another reference to Paul’s credibility—he gives the Corinthian church a lesson on the Lord’s Supper and explains how he has first hand knowledge of this event: God told him about it.
God instructed Paul, who was then faithful to teach others what he had received.
We receive instruction from the Lord (okay, probably not on the same level as Paul) and we can pass on to others what we have learned. We can tell others how to receive Jesus as their Savior and we can share with other believers the truths that God is showing us in scripture. Most likely, anything from the Lord that has blessed your life will bless others as well.
Today, Lord, help me to be ready to share with others what I have received from You. Thank you for being my God.
Singing as I go,
Jim
