Finding and Filling our Place

"But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body." 1 Corinthians 12:18-20

God gifts and places each of us in His church with a view toward a healthy and fully functional body. Our tendency is to desire another person's gift or role but God does not need us in their place. He needs us in the place He has shaped us to fill. We seek personal gratification but God seeks kingdom growth. If the body existed with only a few prominent gifts it could never function effectively to accomplish God's kingdom purpose. If we will surrender our own desires to do what He desires we will find joy beyond what we can imagine and He will be glorified.

Father, help me to be content and faithful where you have placed me and faithful with the gifts that you have entrusted me so that Christ's Body may healthy and fully functional in our church.
