"So I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God and man." Acts 24:12
Because Paul believed in the resurrection of the righteous and wicked (v. 15), He also believed in accountability to God. Therefore he was diligent to maintain a clear conscience--to have no offense on his "record"--before God and man. In this world that dismisses sins lightly we may be tempted to take the world's attitude toward sin. We need to maintain such a vision of God in our life that we see sin as He sees it and therefore strive diligently to keep our conscience clear before Him at all times.
Father, help me to maintain a clear vision of You in my life that causes me to strive to maintain a clear conscience before You. I thank you for Your grace that cleanses me from past faults, help me to walk in present holiness.
I'm praying for you.

God bless you Pastor Mark,
ReplyDeleteI'm still amazed how God's word is useful for correction and reproof. I just had an incident in my life where I did get caught up in strife, and with this morning reading I stand corrected by the word or God and the Holy Spirit. A lady friend called me this morning before I read first light. She was confessing how she felt bad about something she said about someone else. I reminded her that we all sin with our mouth but thank God when the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sins we know that we are not illegitimate children but children of the almighty. I just got through calling her to share our first light for today, she was very encouraged. May we all say like Paul, "I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God and Man." Love in Christ Francie
Amen Pastor Mark,
ReplyDeleteWe are all going to be accountable to GOD.The righteous and the wicked. As believers, before our accounting we have been given forgiveness in CHRIST.Nonbelievers have reason to fear. But on that great day,we will all stand before GOD knowing we had the power of Christ working in us and have to give an account of how little we did with that power. My fear is that sometimes we feel righteous and we think a sincere heart makes us good. But good intentions are worthless unless GOD is the focus of these intentions.
Holy Father, Thank you for loving us.I pray my focus and intentions are always on YOUR plan and not mine.So that at my accounting I can tell what I accomplished though CHRIST's power and hear "Well done MY good and faithful servant".All glory and honor to YOU.Amen
May we all see the error of our ways and turn it back around. Thank you LORD for helping me to see and turn back around. Thank you for forgiving us of our sins through your Son Jesus Christ. It is hard to do sometimes when we are caught up in the world around us, but with God and the Holy Spirit's help it is always possible to get back on track with God's WILL for our lives.
ReplyDeleteHeavenly Father, Help us all to be strong and stand strong in You. Help us to see when we are doing wrong and most of all help us to have the strength to lay it all down before you and get right with you.
