"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light...and find out what pleases the Lord." Ephesians 5:8,10
In Christ we have come out of darkness and into His light. We must, therefore, leave behind the things of darkness and learn how to "live as children of light."
Remnants of the darkness cling to us and must be eradicated by exposure to the light of Christ. This will happen in our life as weturn our focus from the things of darkness (see 5:3-7) and look fully into the light of Christ. "And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another" (2 Cor. 3:18 ESV). As we focus our attention on Him and immerse ourselves in learning what is pleasing to Him the darkness will be dispelled and the light will shine in us.
Father, remove the remaining strongholds of darkness from life as I devote myself to walk in the light with Christ. Teach me what pleases you and help me by Your Spirit to live it out.

Thank you for your insight Pastor Mark. I read a little further down. "15 & 16 See that you walk circumspectly , not as fools but as wise. Redeeming the time because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. Thank you for being a leader that encourage us to stay in the light of Gods word so that we will not be beguiled by untruths taught in this evil world. May God bless us all with a desire to read His word and get an understanding of what His will is. Love in Christ Francie

ReplyDeleteIt is imperitive that we constantly seek to spend time in GOD's word.I came to know Christ very late in life as you are aware.I developed many bad habits or strongholds.Without spending time to get to know GOD's will,I could nver have overcome these stongholds or even have wanted to.I have have not conquered them all.But Christ assures me I will as long as I let HIM do the work and I follow HIS lead.Thank you for being the example for us to follow that most assuredly has GOD saying"well done My good and faithful servant".
Holy Father, thank you for sending me Your spirit to help cleanse me of the poisons of this world.I long to become like Christ,and without Your help I am to weak and to small to do it on my own.Thank you,thank you,thank you!
